I’ve been hanging here for so long I lost my fear of the fall
All the stimulation only has me afraid of being bored

Feels like an emergency that’s taking its time
But you peel away the urgency
The flower petals fall to the ground

When I crossed that road I crossed the wires of the world
When our source of hope turned around, looking down
The buttons have been pushed to make me go, just to go

High above a tragedy, safe in your arms
As I beg you for your sympathy
Release your iron grip and left me fall

I’ve got everything I need, I couldn’t ask for more
I buy the poison and the cure, feed the rich and kill the poor
I had the answer in my hand, emptied it to ask for more
Now my hand is filled with yours, and I can’t let go

Feels like an emergency that’s taking its time
As you peel away the urgency
The walls and cages crash from on-
High above a tragedy, safe in your arms
As I beg you for your sympathy
Release your iron grip and let me fall

-Ideamen, “Emergency
from May You Live In Interesting Times

This may be the song of the year for me. One of, at the very least.

"When I sell the rights to a book, they buy the right to adapt it in whatever way they see fit. I can accept that they wanted a lighter film, and, as I’ve said before, the script is very enjoyable and tight as a drum. They haven’t adapted it badly, by any means. People who’ve enjoyed the graphic novel will have to accept that it’s an adaptation and that by definition means that it’s going to be a different beast from the book. The film has the same DNA."
— Warren Ellis, on the film adaptation of his graphic novel Red. (Also, almost the same opinion I have on most comic book movies.)

There’s this place in Nashville called Love Hill, which is Nashville’s version of the proverbial “Make-Out Point” that Hollywood loves so much. It’s pretty close to my apartment (right off of Vanderbilt campus) and overlooks the entire city. At night, it’s the most beautiful place in Nashville to be.
Anyway, when I went out at 2 AM this morning to take pictures around Nashville with my trusty Canon XSi, this was the first spot I went to. I took several sets of long exposure shots (30”, 60”, 90”, 120”), all at ISO100, f/22, and all with the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens. (Unfortunately, lots of trees were in the way… I guess they add a nice touch though? Haven’t decided yet… =/)
Long story short, I’ve been combining and editing them the past few hours, and here’s the result. (Yes, I’m slow, because I’m still a n00b, so this probably isn’t that great either… lol, all you professionals, please don’t kill me.)
